About project
Centrālais Gastro Tirgus, nestled within the historic ambiance of Riga Central Market—a site distinguished by its inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage list in 1998—revolutionized the Latvian culinary scene as the first Food Court in Latvia. This pioneering venture, developed by the innovative Resto-Rātors team, was not just a food court; it was a culinary canvas that presented 24 unique street food concepts, each telling its own story through flavors and dishes that captured the essence of global and local cuisines. Among its diverse and tantalizing offerings, Gastro Tirgus was home to the “Rav Burger,” heralded as the most popular burger in Latvia. This wasn’t just a burger; it was a culinary masterpiece that epitomized the excellence and creativity at the heart of Gastro Tirgus. One of the standout creations from Gastro Tirgus was the “Nori Line,” a concept that quickly captured the hearts and palates of food enthusiasts. It exemplified the innovative spirit of Gastro Tirgus, blending traditional elements with contemporary flair, and further cementing the food court’s status as a crucible of culinary innovation. Cenrtrālais Gastro Tirgus wasn’t just a place to eat; it was a vibrant culinary destination that drew both locals and tourists, making it one of the hottest spots in Riga for experiencing street food at its finest. However, the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic brought unforeseen challenges, leading to the unfortunate closure of this beloved culinary landmark. The closure of Centrālais Gastro Tirgus marked the end of an era for Riga’s gastronomic landscape. Its legacy, however, lives on in the memories of those who experienced its vibrant atmosphere and innovative dishes.
